Garage Shops is an online platform that allows users to advertise items for sale, give away unwanted items for free, and create wanted listings for items they are looking for within their local area.
Garage Shops is an advertising and enquiry platform only. Garage Shops does not buy, sell, inspect, value, store, ship, deliver, guarantee or take ownership of any item listed on the website.
All transactions, inspections, negotiations, payments, collections and disputes occur directly between buyers and sellers.
Users are responsible for their own actions when using Garage Shops.
Sellers are responsible for ensuring their listings are accurate, lawful, honest and not misleading.
Users responding to listings are responsible for making their own enquiries, checking item condition, confirming availability and deciding whether to proceed with any purchase, collection or arrangement.
Users should take reasonable care when arranging inspections, payments and collections. Users participate in any transaction at their own risk.
Garage Shops is not a party to any transaction between a buyer and seller.
Garage Shops does not provide buyer protection, seller protection, payment protection, escrow services, delivery services, warranties, refunds or dispute resolution services.
Garage Shops is not responsible for failed transactions, inaccurate listings, non-payment, non-delivery, disputes, losses, damage, injury, scams, misrepresentation or any other issue arising between users.
Users must follow these rules when using Garage Shops:
Garage Shops may remove, edit, hide, expire or refuse any listing, Garage Shop page or user account at any time if we believe it breaches these terms, is unsuitable, is misleading, is unlawful, creates risk, or may harm the Garage Shops community.
Active listings currently expire automatically after 90 days unless updated or relisted.
Users may submit their name, phone number and optional message when responding to a listing.
These details are sent to the relevant Garage Shops owner so they may choose whether to contact the buyer.
Garage Shops strongly encourages users to respond to genuine enquiries, but does not guarantee that a response will be received.
Seller phone numbers, email addresses and home addresses are not publicly displayed on Garage Shops.
Sellers are responsible for deciding whether, when and how to share further contact information, pickup details or addresses with buyers.
Garage Shop owners may request optional postal address verification. Garage Shops may send a six-digit code by mail to the private address registered for the Garage Shop.
A Garage Shop may receive an Address Verified badge after the correct code is entered before it expires.
Address verification only indicates that correspondence containing the verification code was received at the registered postal address. It does not verify or guarantee a user’s identity, honesty, character, listings, ownership of items, prices, item condition, payments or transactions.
Users must continue to make their own enquiries and take reasonable care when communicating, inspecting items, making payments or arranging collection.
Garage Shops may refuse, cancel, expire, remove or require renewal of verification at any time, including where an address changes, information appears inaccurate, a request is misused or platform rules are breached.
Changing the registered street address, suburb, state or postcode removes the existing Address Verified status and may require a new verification request.
Verification letters, codes and badges remain the property and administrative records of Garage Shops. Verification does not create any warranty, endorsement, insurance or protection for users.
Verification requests may involve postage and administrative costs. Garage Shops reserves the right to change, limit, suspend or discontinue the verification program at any time.
Garage Shops is intended for users aged 18 years and over.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that personal information has been provided by a child, we may remove that information and/or close the related account.
Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided personal information through Garage Shops should contact us.

This information is used to operate Garage Shops, manage accounts, display listings, process buyer enquiries, help buyers and sellers communicate, improve the website, prevent misuse and respond to support requests.
Garage Shops may use a registered email address to send account-related communications including password reset links, verification notifications, security notices and important account information.

We may disclose information where necessary to operate the website, respond to enquiries, investigate misuse, comply with legal obligations, protect our rights, or respond to lawful requests from authorities.
Buyer enquiry details are provided to the relevant Garage Shop owner for the purpose of responding to that enquiry.
We take reasonable steps to protect information submitted to Garage Shops. However, no website, database, email system or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users provide information and use Garage Shops at their own risk.
Users are responsible for any text, images or other content they upload or submit to Garage Shops.
By uploading content, you confirm that you have the right to use that content and that it does not infringe another person's rights.
You grant Garage Shops permission to display, store and use submitted content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Garage Shops platform.
Garage Shops may suspend, restrict, remove or permanently delete accounts, listings, verification status or Garage Shop pages where we believe a user has breached these terms, misused the platform, provided false information, created risk for others, engaged in spam or fraudulent activity, or acted against the purpose of the website.
Garage Shops is not required to provide advance notice before taking moderation action, although we may choose to do so where practical.
Garage Shops may be modified, interrupted, suspended or discontinued at any time without notice.
We do not guarantee that the website will always be available, error-free or secure.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Garage Shops is not liable for any loss, damage, cost, claim, injury, dispute, failed transaction, scam, misrepresentation, data loss, interruption or other issue arising from use of the website or from dealings between users.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under Australian law.

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
